Defcon crashing

Hamish May 01, 2017 10:13PM BST

Hello, I just bought and downloaded Defcon of my Mac computer, and every time I try to open the game, the screen darkens then closes and say that it quit unexpectedly. This is very confusing and frustrating, please see if this can be fixed, it is unfortunate to have spent money on something and then it does not work. Thank you

Same issue for me on mac OS.

I've also installed it on my windows computer and it launchs itself with a too big resolution it seems because the only right low corner appears and takes the whole screen.

I agree that it is quite annoying, I really want to try this game.

PS :
It seems a file of the game is corrupted or missing. When I verify the local files, it says that one of them cannot be found and will be download again but nothign happens. (I've already tried to uninstall/install the game again and the issue remains).

I also have this problem. Downloaded it on Steam on Mac last night. Game quits after a couple of seconds. Is there a solution to this? Otherwise will be requesting refund. Thanks

Same here. OSX Sierra 10.12.5. Game Defcon from Humble Bundle. Crashes right after start.

Why does Introversion does not reply?

Are you running on Mac OS X Sierra? If so, please could you:

1. Download the build from
2. Make sure that Steam is running.
3. Extract the ZIP and run Defcon using the Finder application.

Please let me know if it works or not

Hello John,

It seems to work: I have not been able to actually play (I'm at work ^^) but the game launches itself correctly. Should I always launch it from finder and not steam ? Nonetheless, thank you very much for your help.

I also use a windows computer and there was an issue: It seems to be a graphical problem with a focus on the left or right (I don't remember) down corner. It is like a big zoom over just this corner so I cannot do anything and I am forced to shut down the game forcefully. Since I can now play with mac, I'm good but maybe other people have the same issue. ;)
